The whole thing revolves effectually Deadpool figuring out that he, and the unabridged Curiosity universe, are comic volume characters. His grand plan is to end all their needless suffering at the easily of the writers.
And then...
PARENTAL Informational Alarm
Anybody dies in increasingly inventive means. None of it'due south pretty.
And non much of it's funny, either.
There were a few actually practiced lines in there, most of it to practice with how silly it is that all of these characters take escaped death over and over once again.
Especially considering how relatively simple information technology would be to finish them if someone really wanted to.

Did I like it?
Well, it was short and to the bespeak. Any longer, and I probably wouldn't take been able to accept much more. Merely this book isn't aimed at readers like me, and then in that location's no deducting points for that.
It wasn't badly written, and I liked the manner it poked fun of all the deaths and miraculous resurrections of this genre. The ending was foreseeable, but still a overnice bear upon.
If you enjoy the more vehement gory comics, so this would probably be right up your alley. If non, steer clear of it.

Nosotros didn't even get to meet anyone put up much of a fight. It all felt... stale. Yes, he breaks the Fourth Wall regularly, but there'southward commonly humor to it. There was no humour in this, there was no sympathising with him and there was nothing even remotely, 'Hey, that's pretty awesome,' or, 'I shouldn't be laughing simply I am.'

Information technology all felt too easy, there was none of the fun that Deadpool is known for and really, information technology was a bit boring. Information technology doesn't add anything to Deadpool or the Curiosity Universe and it's non exactly memorable.

I get the impression that this is the sort of comic that you volition either greatly dislike or beloved in spite of yourself. Oddly plenty, I found myself in the latter camp.

It's the ultimate in free violence, an entire series created just to revel in Deadpool'south ability to unleash terrifying levels of gory violence. And also his tendency to be divorced from his reality, and to lean heavily on the fourth wall. In this instance, he's seeing beyond the fourth wall entirely, and he's far more than cracked

I get the impression that this is the sort of comic that you will either greatly dislike or beloved in spite of yourself. Oddly enough, I establish myself in the latter military camp.

Information technology'south the ultimate in gratuitous violence, an entire series created simply to revel in Deadpool's power to unleash terrifying levels of gory violence. And also his tendency to be divorced from his reality, and to lean heavily on the quaternary wall. In this case, he's seeing beyond the 4th wall entirely, and he's far more croaky and fierce than he'southward e'er been before.

And believe it or non, it's hugely entertaining. It isn't a Deadpool-way absurd express joy fest, but there are definitely funny moments. But mostly the appeal is the senseless violence, which is absurdly enjoyable to read.

But this volume disregards most people'due south powers and uses of their weapons and skills in order for Deadpool to drib one liners and brutally murder them. What I liked: Ummmm I guess Kitty prides "maze" of forever was swell idea (I wanted more than of that!) and...yep that's about it.

What I didn't like: Spider-man death made no fucking sense. Dude has spider sense. Task Primary wouldn't exist defeated like that, again makes no sense. LOL at Sue being and so dumb as to let herself get defenseless off baby-sit. X23 getting killed like that? Dumb. Just fucking dumb. Bloody, agonizing, episodic, and absolutely the most perfect Deadpool story that needed to be told.

Contrary to what many of the reviews say, there is a distinct reason Wade sets on killing the entirety of the Curiosity Universe... He comes to fully realize that his life, and the lives of everyone in the Marvel Universe, exist only for the entertainment value of an outside observer: Us.

It's not random, it's not pointless, it'southward not about blood n guts (though they are present in spades). It's virtually finally ending the abiding torment that the people in the Marvel Universe endure for nothing more than our own entertainment. Wade doesn't merely want to break the 4th wall, he wants to tear downward every wall he sees.

In this story, the reader comes to realize that Wade'due south breaking of the fourth wall is far more sinister, disturbing, and existential than most previous writers have implied. He knows that the struggles, the pain, the deaths and rebirths are all the effect of other human minds creating fiction. He never says this on-the-nose, just information technology's abundantly clear that he's ending the charade of the Marvel Universe, and aiming to avenge the fact that he even exists to brainstorm with. Nosotros come across the effect of this realization as it dawns on Professor Xavier, and it drives him into a catatonic land.

To Wade's (twistedly correct) mindset, he's not actually killing anyone, because none of his victims ever actually existed to begin with.

This story is the logical endpoint of Wade'south capacity to see beyond the fourth wall, and how someone with his history would respond to the total realization that he is only a piece of work of fiction.

It's very disappointing to come across so many people completely miss the central point of this story.

Fans of the 90'due south Joe Kelly run will find a lot of the darkness they may accept missed since the Daniel Way run began in 2008.

My thoughts - the good and bad - I actually enjoyed how marvel wasn't scared to brand this gruesome and brutal and to me heartbreaking and I honey that the volume attached to my feelings in a fashion. The art portrays the murder actually well and you lot get that gross feeling. I also enjoyed the plot. My problem was that the story was really brusk and since it'southward brusque the characters deadpool's killing don't get a lot of time to fight back or not a lot of dialogue is shared, I recall the team and the characters with the nearly dialogue with deadpool were the 10-Men, Spider-Man and taskmaster. That's why instead of rounding upward like I usually do I decided the volume was more than of a 4 star.

Non the worst comic I've e'er read. I'g fairly new to the 'funny' Deadpool phenomenon. The Deadpool Max line is pretty fun stuff, if inconsistent. Merely the Marvel Zombies and "Blank vs. the Universe" titles accept trashed a lot of established measuring sticks for some of our favorite characters, similar the Punisher killing the Hulk with a well-aimed arrow, or Deadpool killing some of the Curiosity Universe's cosmic-powered characters. Since they're the equivalent to this generation's versions of an imaginary story, no one seems to care and these things are preordained to end in just four or half-dozen problems. Simply information technology'southward just non working for me anymore. The artists are unremarkably some of the lesser lights. The stories are rushed and barely become beyond a premise.

No glowing recommendation here, folks.

Update: odd, at Sam's bidding I tried this again and I'thousand not sure where my original opinion came from. It's definitely trying for the Deadpool crazy churr, and it'south just irreverent plenty to accept out a major untouchable in the kickoff outcome.

Trying this once more via my Curiosity Unlimited subscription which will exist a little frustrating every bit the final issue isn't available still - but it gave me enough to re-form my opinion of Mr. Bunn. Past issue 1, there's some moments that had laughing loud, and that's plenty of an achievement for this jaded onetime dude to warrant my dearest. (Tweaking Thor's nose was a favourite.)

Finally borrowed this from the public library, and got through the last 2 bug. It's amusing and highly cocky-referential, and does a skillful job of post-obit through on killing folks in ways that in-continuity books haven't followed through on. It probably did as good a job at what it ready out to do as we can wait, but still feels pretty forgettable after it's over.
